Booth | Stand
Here is my booth at the Ottawa Guild of Potters Spring sale. It was my second Sale with the OGP and I was pleased to see some of the adjustments I made to improve my sales were good ones.
- My newer pieces in black clay sold much better than older work (white clay, more artistic pieces). I still have to offer more “functional” and colourful pieces (vases, mugs…) to meet the demand and improve my revenue.
- I also put some Tibetan paper (handmade) under the pieces to contrast with the clay body.
- I changed my lighting as well (no more white LED…what was I thinking?)
Thanks to Paul Portelli‘s lecture, I know I still lots of things I can do in terms on visual merchandising (the way I should place my work so it attracts the customer’s attention to the work).

Voici mon stand à la vente poterie de la Guilde des potiers d’Ottawa. C’est ma seconde avec la GPO et j’étais contente de voir une amélioration en terme de ventes dûe aux changements apportés depuis la première vente.
- Mes nouvelles pièces en glaise noire ont bien vendu en comparaison avec les autres (glaise blanche et pièces plus “artistiques”). Je dois offrir plus de pièces “fonctionnelles” et colorées (vase, tasses…) pour satisfaire la demande et augmenter mes revenus.
- J’ai mis du papier tibétain (fait main) sous mes pièces pour contraster avec la glaise.
- J’ai changé mes lumières (fini les LED blanches…mais quelle idée?).
Grâce à la présentation faite par Paul Portelli, je sais que j’ai encore du progrès à faire avec ma présentation du marchandisage (la façon dont on dispose les pièces pour attirer l’attention des clients).
